Cradle Mountain, Tasmania

As with the photos from The Overland Track, I have included these few photos of Dove Lake at the foot of Cradle Mountain taken around 1999. These also will not necessarily enlarge to an acceptable website standard, however will enable me to expand my website photos to include a wider area of Australia.

Sometimes magic happens in photography, and it is not always possible to recreate the moment. I just happened to arrive at the lake very early in the morning, with no wind, in beautiful clear, yet misty weather. The photographs were taken from the six kilometre walking track with circumnavigates Lake Dove.

However, the good news though is that the Cradle Mountain valley, although a starting off point for more challenging 65 kilometre Overland Track to Lake St Clair, is quite accessible.
