I have added a few extra photos to this gallery. It was an exciting trip, being an isolated route from Queensland through to the Northern Territory, but as often is the case, turned out to be one of the most memorable.
Whether you have difficulty crossing a river or enjoying the wonder of a feature which appears unexpectedly in the middle of your seemingly isolated journey, people pop out of the woodwork to help, share experiences, or simply to share the moment.
The journey originated in Cairns, travelled via Atherton, Ravenshoe, Undara, Cobbled Gorge, Karumba Normanton. This particular gallery focuses on travelling from Normanton to Burketown, past Leichhardt Falls and from Burketown via Hells Gate Roadhouse to the Northern Territory border and on to Borroloola.
On reflection, there are limited photos in these areas as there is a lot of travel along roads where there is not much to record but the Outback. However, this is an experience in itself, but it is sometimes a long way between photographs.
Undara and Cobbold Gorge are commercial enterprises and therefore I had not previously included photos, however, they each now have a gallery, albeit only two photos at Undara, and well warranted.
