THE HORSES' STORIES (from the storyboard at the silo site).

CLEM

Clem was bred at Lavereen Stud, Goorambat. He was a special colt that was a “dummy” not knowing how to suckle the mare and had to be bucket raised. Clem’s older brother had been purchased by a Toowoomba stud, and they were looking for a working pair. They took Clem on and he proved to be difficult to break in, but once he “cottoned on” to what was required he turned into one of their best and most trusted workhorses, regularly doing displays at the local museum and he won thousands of working ribbons at local shows.

BANJO

Banjo, Clem’s older brother, was also bred at Laveroon Stud. He is from a family of horses that date back almost 100 years. He was bought as a breeding stallion and was also a brilliant workhorse, known for his extreme laid back attitude at shows, working with mares and geldings without any trouble. He has been the Queensland Ploughing Champion and did well in the Show ring.

Clem and Banjo’s brother and sister are still on the stud at Goorambat.

SAM

Sam was bred on Coolibah Ridge, Toowoomba. He was broken in and worked at four years' of age. He is Banjo's grandson.
